I'M A MODERN CITIZEN: I RESPECT THE TRAFFIC RULES

THE RIGHT OF WAY

  • GIVE WAY TO ALL TRAFFIC ON YOUR RIGHT ALWAYS AND EVERYWHERE

especially at ROAD JUNCTIONS and ROUND ABOUTS

  • It is MANDATORY to give way IMMEDIATELY to any Ambulance or Fire Engine

It is a duty of each citizen for the sake of saving lives

KEEP YOUR LANE

  • STAY IN YOUR LANE . Do NOT leave your lane and use the correct signals

NEVER DRIVE IN A ZIG-ZAG manner

  • Do NOT TAILGATE

  • STAY to the MOST LEFT lane as possible allowing the vehicles from the opposite direction to pass

  • KEEP LEFT allowing the vehicles from the opposite direction to pass

  • When the road is divided by Lines

YELLOW Lines. Yellow should NOT be CROSSED in ANY CASE , even while over-taking

WHITE Lines. If needed, you may cross the white line

  • Make sure through your mirror whether the traffic behind you is sufficiently behind

  • CHANGE into LANES SLOWLY and smoothly

GIVE INDICATORS

  • SIGNAL BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY MANOEUVRE  indicating your intention

Use INDICATORS and signals while CHANGING lanes

AVOID SUDDEN BRAKING and HARSH ACCELERATION

While turning, give the correct signals as to whether you are turning right or left or Making a 'U' turn
Signal continuously till you have completed the turn

AT SIGNALS
  • ANY WHITE, BLACK OR YELLOW LINE painted on the road IS A STOP signal

  • STOP WITHIN the stop line

NOT stop BEYOND the stop line

NOT stop on the PEDESTRIAN CROSSING

  • Remember that PEDESTRIAN has the RIGHT OF WAY at pedestrian crossings

I'M PROUD TO BE A GOOD DRIVER, I RESPECT THE TRAFFIC RULES

THE BEST WAY TO TAKE A TURN

  • ALWAYS AND EVERYWHERE WHILE TAKING TURN:

EVERY TIME GIVE WAY TO VEHICLES GOING STRAIGHT

GIVE WAY TO YOUR RIGHT hand

DO NOT IF THE ROAD IS NOT FREE

    GO SLOW

    GIVE INDICATOR

    LOOK LEFT AND RIGHT twice

  • WHILE TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT:

GET INTO THE MOST RIGHT LANE

LOOK at the rearview MIRROR give INDICATOR

LEFT TURNS : TURN CLOSE to the left side of the road to which you enter

KEEP to your most LEFT SIDE of the road and

RIGHT TURNS : KEEP to your most RIGHT SIDE road lane. WAITING for a way and

SWIFTLY AND GENTLY maneuver your vehicle into it

U-TURNS : NOT allowed on busy roads. The driver must be very careful

KEEP to your most RIGHT SIDE road lane. STOP your vehicle

SWIFTLY AND GENTLY take a turn, and

Take care of other vehicles (specially 2 wheelers) which are turning with you

I LOVE MY CITY: I RESPECT THE TRAFFIC RULES

WHAT I HAVE TO DO IN A ROTARY

  • STOP IF THE ROAD IS NOT FREE

    GIVE WAY TO YOUR RIGHT

    Stay in YOUR lane

    LOOK LEFT AND RIGHT twice

  • ENTER IN A ROTARY

NEVER rush directly on a Rotary

Make sure that NOT ANY vehicle is approaching FROM YOUR RIGHT

Take care of the other vehicles

    Specially of motorcycles and cycles

  • TURNING LEFT (It's same as in crossing)

1: BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER the rotary

GIVE WAY TO YOUR RIGHT . Wait for NOT ANY vehicle is on YOUR RIGHT

Stick to the most LEFT side

2: Give SIGNAL to turn LEFT by indicator or hand

3: and then SWIFTLY AND GENTLY merge with the traffic

2: Cross the rotary ON THE MOST LEFT SIDE of the rotary

3: Give SIGNAL for turning LEFT BEFORE to turn

AT AN AUTOMATIC SIGNAL

Red, Yellow, Green. Yellow warns you that it is soon going to become red
RED denotes that you should STOP the vehicle and should NOT enter the intersection
YELLOW you have to STOP the vehicle without proceeding
You should cross the junction ONLY if you are already in the middle of the junction
GREEN signal than you can proceed and enter the intersection
